The Importance of Building More Houses

Building more houses anywhere decreases average cost everywhere and is net positive for global welfare. Maybe all of these together mean that my argument is irrelevant for most cities at most timescales we care about, even if it's potentially true in theory sometimes. This depends on global factors like how hard it is to make the next Google, and how many new Googles the world economy has room for.
