Jeff Canada: Top Gun Maverick is like a best case scenario for an indie film and we should want things like this to be able to happen to indie films, but also the system is horribly broken. "I think part of the reason people are a little annoyed too is like it was kind of a mimefied sort of campaign where it seemed like everybody just copied and pasted the same basic text about the movie," he says. He adds that there's a lot about the Oscars that are inauthentic.
