The Martyrs Problem
In that same sphere of a willing sacrifice on behalf of something greater. And add to it the martyrs. People have suggested, i am not the first to suggest that the martyrs were sort of a suicide cluster. They're killing themselves to be a martyr for this religion. Once constantine makes christianity no longer illegal in three thirteen, there's no point in it more for the church. The church is just getting to be more than a bunch of scattered little groups. It's but the church doesn't want to lose members any more,. and it's not illegal, so it doesn't make any sense any more.
