The Lord God's Divine Decree of the Forgiveness of Sins
Luther: I believe that when the called ministers of Christ deal with us by his divine command. This is just as valid and certain, even in heaven, as if Christ our dear Lord, dealt with us himself. When those sins are forgiven, it's not an earthly judgment. The center is being justified that is declared to be innocent before God. While the devil points his accusing finger right Satan accuses the center of being guilty of everything under the law of God and worthy of hell,. which is true according to the law. And so where sins are confessed, the Lord God has declared that those sins will be forgiven.
