Matt Welch: Humanists are asking themselves questions that aren't restricted to what's good for the company, right? They're asking themselves question that was good for the society at large. He says it's harder to see because of how we've designed our universities. Welch: We have spent quite a few decades forgetting about the importance of infrastructure. And in a way, overlooking infrastructure is exactly the same thing as overlooking democracy.
