The Infectious Disease Society of America and the pediatric infectious disease society guidelines for pneumonia. They will say that especially in outpatient they recommend specifically against things like chest x-ray or other blood tests. I feel a little bit differently and at my institution we actually recommend chest radiography for kids who come in with suspected pneumonia. The vast majority so 99% of those kids recovered without antibiotics.
