conspiracy theories have taken over a certain subset of on line experience. People try to become their own experts and conclude that the earth is flat, or that the lunar landing was faked. What i do when i'm thinking about whether i believe in a conspiracy theory is i ask myself questions. Would this conspiracy theory being true re affirm my world view? Because if so, that may be a big part of why i believe it's true. And too, how many people would have to be lying to me?
