McCarthy Meets With the Taiwan Leader in the United States
McCarthy is only the third House Speaker to meet with the Taiwanese leader. China launched their largest ever military drills around Taiwan when Pelosi visited, included a simulated blockade. Chinese state media reported that they were focused on simulating strikes on Taiwan. France president Emmanuel Macron said Europe should not follow the US and risk a confrontation with China over Taiwan.
