Ulysses is the Inferno, Finnegan's Wake is the Purgatorio and there was to have been the Paradiso. Dante pitches us out of the world into this mythological dimension. Joyce definitely decided for the dramatic. He presents his material even in the style of the person he is talking about. Princess the Poit of the Ice's young man begins with this tiny little boy just as a little pup.
