The Importance of Blood Counts in HIV Treatment

The patient had a low neutrophil count of around 600, which would make me lean towards having this patient admitted to the hospital. If those were the only laboratory abnormalities, I'd say we could probably address this and work this up in an expedited manner as an outpatient. The thing that really catches my eye is someone who likely has some degree of lymphocyte compromise given the underlying HIV.
