i found many instances in edinburgh notebook of what i started thinking of as useful misreadings, places where the context or subject matter of the larger poem prime me to see words and meanings that weren't quite there, but almost there. And i'm curious about the origin of these blips, which feel like a kind of cross linguistic pun did they emerge organically in translation as pure serndipity, or were they snuck in with intention, like booby traps?
