What's Robert Boyle and Thomas Hobbs Doing?
Robert boyle is performing experiments in a laboratory. Thomas hobbs am describing a political theory that gives u social order. Boyle's presenting this thing called nature with a capitalan, but he's marshalling this whole network underneath it. Hobbs is doing the same. He's saying these are the laws of nature, but underneath that is a network of allies. Everything is mixed together. But it's precisely by hiding that hybridity that we get the power of the categories above the line.
