The Evolution of Coronaviruses
Virus changes enough that some people who were immune to last year's flu are no longer immune to this year's flu. The same mutation, the mutation that made B117 spread in the UK last fall, you see that same mutation popping up in South Africa and Brazil in totally unrelated viruses. It is most likely going to turn into a seasonal disease that comes and goes much like influenza does. And what it'll do over the long term is not clear, but that sort of can't be ruled out.
