The beauty standard has stayed relevant in China since like 221 BC. The length that people go to maintain fair skin in China is ridiculous. In the boiling hot heat in China, you can see all the women, even men, will be covered from head to toe with long sleeve, long pants, hat, sunglasses, visors. Some people even carry around umbrellas to provide shade for themselves.
