Why Women Matter in the Transportation Industry?
Women make up about 15% of a 15 million person transportation workforce. In the past 15 years, according to census data, the proportion of women in the industry has only increased 3%. Women move differently than men and pay more for safe transport because they don't feel comfortable maybe taking transit at night. The outcome is that it's really important that we get more diverse perspectives into the industry, particularly in decision making,.
