The Trial of Rodney King
On April 28, 1992, four officers charged in the beating of Rodney King were found not guilty. Out of the 12 jurors selected, only two were persons of color. In an already racially charged case, the jury did not include a single black person. Defense lawyers repeatedly referred to what they called "the thin blue line"
