Social contact and realizing that all human beings like have, you know, desires and wishes and hopes and dreams, it's very, very hard to not extend the principle of impartiality. And I think that it's at least, it's a cognitive process. It's like a category process that other people belong in the same category as me. That if I were that person, it's this perspective taking. But I don't think it's reasoning, like, working hard through logic, but rather just cognition.

Dave and Tamler try their best to do a show without guests--we talk about moral persuasion, motivated reasoning, and whether it's legitimate to use emotionally charged rhetoric in a philosophical argument. Plus, we describe how students proceed through the "Stages-of-Singer," and Tamler finally defends himself against Dave's slanderous accusation of hypocrisy about animal welfare.
