The Stop LAPD spying coalition is calling for the dismantling of seesaw and operation laser. Shane Goldsmith confirmed to me these facts through email, though she doesn't remember the details of her meeting with the coalition. The coalition's anger at her in particular stems from the fact that she voted to approve funding for a new seesaw before the results of this review. There is no trust on their side that any of these reviews and examinations are conducted in good faith.
On this bonus episode, I go into some of the history between the LAPD police commission and the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition, and feature some of the tape from the Central station CSOC protest that didn't make it into the episode, including some creepy stuff that happened toward the end of the protest. I then talk to Sarah Brayne about the possibility of using surveillance technology to monitor the police themselves.
