Prayer in Seasons of Suffering

Prayer in seasons of pain or loss really has no limits, no party lines. It is something that lives within us, often born out of both a desire for relief and help, and at the same time, a desire to hold some one responsible when suffering comes. For years, i was taught that god hears us when we pray, that he wants to answer our prayers, and that we can actually trust god to be good. These ments left me asking, was this what god was really like?
