i am actually very hopeful, more hopeful than i have ever been. for the first time in america, a reckoning with a history we have been unable to collectively acknowledge as blomatic wrong. My favorite poet, langston hughes, almost a century ago, wrote, let American be America. And i believe that we no longer can wait for that some day that this generation should not have to say, some day in the uture, america will be america.
