The Word of Joy, the Word of Glory
Every time we do the sign, every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes in glory. To proclaim his death is to posit it again, place it before the eyes of God. We proclaim his death because he's risen, or it's not like we're forgetting he's risen. And that's why when we proclaim it, that whole reality becomes the reality of this church assembled.
