The Decline of Life Expectancy in America
The average life expectancy for Americans in 2021 shortened by over seven months in a single year, according to new data from the CDC. That decrease follows an already huge decline of 1.8 years back in 2020. As a result, the expected lifespan of someone born in the US is now 76.4 years - the shortest it has been in nearly two decades.
