What's Your Time Horizon?

If you make investments that are consensus within your firm and they don't work out, you're probably not going to get fired. But if you stuck your neck out and you were wrong, that's going to be real tough. I think it comes back, in many cases, to your time horizon. You want to be moving up in your career every 18 to 36 months. That means you need a bunch of companies that are showing this performance within that time frame. If you're willing, though, to, for whatever reason, to extend your time horizon out farther,. then you can have more patience with these non sus bets that might take longer to play out.
