Ransomware attacks have tripled in the past three years. The goal is to negotiate your way out of this kind of attack. Many CEOs will go to what's known as an incident response cybersecurity firm. There are also "ransom negotiators" who help guide you through taking a ransom payment, demand and trying to haggle that number down.

The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.75 percentage points for the third time in a row on Wednesday, and Credit Suisse has drawn up plans to split its investment bank in three. Plus, the FT’s Hannah Murphy explains how companies, and the negotiators they hire, deal with a ransomware attack.
