The Importance of Hook Setting
I think it's depends on the rod, right? Because you can get a five weight that has a soft softer. And so it doesn't necessarily come down to the weight of the rod. Sometimes it's the action of the rod and especially in fighting. We all fight fish pretty hard and we like to be able to steer them away from anything. It's kind of the ethical thing to do is to fight a fish quickly where they're not exerting too much energy.
