The History of Project Bluebook
Project Bluebook was the third in a series of projects that the government started to explore the UFO question. The first was project sign, which came to the conclusion that these are probably interplanetary craft. In 1969, General Carol Bollender, Air Force General who had oversight over Bluebook, wrote the memo discontinuing it. And so because he said there's nothing to be gained scientifically, we don't believe UFOs are a threat to national security.
