The Politics of Tribalism
I think what we often have, what disturbs me to day, especially about politics, is that politics has become a politics of just tribalism. It's just about which side you're on, and then you say whatever. And therefore it strikes me that no view that sort of really takes constitutionalism seriously is going to get any kind of raction. I mean, now, as you said, it's a e a done deal by the wik. But i don't think it was very different in terms of attitudes or in terms of commitment to constitutional principles at the time.
