ini.
Speaker 2
Am jocomfino, working at the intersection of personal transformation and systems evolution. And
Speaker 1
i am brother fapu, a zen buddhist monk in the tradition of plum village, student of zen master tinan. And
Speaker 2
to day, brother, we've been talking a lot recently about how to deal with our suffering, which is very important. But to day we're going to change direction a bit. We're going to now talk about the art of happiness. The way out is in
Speaker 3
hallo.
Speaker 2
Dear friends. I'm jo confino, and i am brother fabho. And brother, we're going to talk about the art of happiness to day. So why are we going to talk about this? Why? Why have we chosen this topic? Because
Speaker 1
it is so important to be able to have happiness in our daily life, because that is a nourishment that keeps us fresh, balance, solid and present.
Speaker 2
So i was, before we er came to tie's sitting still hut to do this recording. I was sitting under the linden tree at the entrance to plum village, and one of the monks came and sat next me. And i said, i said, brother, i'm going to do this recording with fappu, and i want to sound really intelligent. So we're going to talk about happiness, i think, to day. So so what should i say? And he said something which was really interesting. He said, well, actually, we all have a different perception of happiness. Like, what actually is happiness? Every one would give a different answer. But to day, brother, we're going to talk about oe of the discourses on happiness from the buddha's time. And the reason he said this was a good thing to discuss is because actually it's a way of actually quantifying happiness. Its a way of actually giving happiness a sort of o framework, a way to actually explore happiness that, in a sense, we can all connect with. So i think we're ging to do that to day, aren't we?
Speaker 1
That is correct. Because happiness has so many layers to it. So we are going to look at many of the layers in to day sutra, and i hope, hopefully, we will find some ingredient for our own happiness also
Speaker 2
as well.
