The Rainbow Tables Really Speed Up the Processes

A salt is a random set of characters that you add on to the end of whatever the password was that was provided, and then you hash that. So let's say the password was monkey one two three, and thenyou have some sort of random string that just says cat, right? Like c a, t, whatever. You hash that entire thing, then that's what you store as the hashed password. The more characters you have in a password, the more enterpe there is, and the more difficult it is to crack by doing a brute force attack.
