The Effects of Low Energy Supply on the Acetyl CoA to CoA Ratio

The nucleus can hold one billion acetyl groups in every cell. That means that under conditions of low energy supply, those acetyl groups can start leaving the nucleus and keep the acetyl CoA levels from bonking too low. In addition to this, as I mentioned before, there are a number of metabolic disorders that lead to hogging up the CoA pool. When they do so, they lead to an acyl CoA that reflects the metabolic disorder.
