Thatcher and Reagan's Relationships With the US
There are obviously strong cultural and even familial links between Britain and America. But really on the ground, like when it came to the Falklands, Thatcher was astonished that the US wouldn't take the side of the Brits. Not getting the full-throated support of the US was a bitter blow to the Brits,. However, you've got to continue to make nice, because what are you going to do? The mood music is great, joined by language, joined by tradition, Thatcher and Reagan can make nice.
