The Spartans Choose a Gesalatus
According to the law, they are Tressantes, those who trembled. They're supposed to be doomed to dishonor for the rest of their lives. A gesalatus comes into the assembly on that day and says, we must let the laws sleep for a day. And this is something that this people, Sparta, generally wanted. It was either do this or maybe not survive as a city.
