The Politics of Democracy

I think there's sort of two ways to read the Trump phenomenon. One is that we have really descended into a neo-futalism or an oligarchy. I'm not a democracy alarmist from a literal point of view. Like I think Trump actually did want to do away with many of the democratic norms we have and failed spectacularly because they really put up a good show better than I would have predicted. So I feel pretty hopeful. I mean, I feel like things could turn around and things may be are turning in our favor.
