Animism Is a Feeling

i grew up among animists who probably didn't even know they were animists. When we get out into nature do we start to experience things this way? Because animism is normative consciousness. And there is a confluence, a meeting place between you and the world. In that meeting place, things move and things shine, and everything is alive. To day on the emerald, you've felt it. All but the deadest of us have felt it. For us. Now, animism can seem abstract. It can seem far away, until, says anne roe, we find ourselves lost inthe woods at dusk. Then it's amazing how quickly animism returns.
