Bridget Bishop, a Witch in Salem Village
Bridget bishop was accused of witchcraft by her stepson and his wife. Bridget had lost two children and a husband, only to find herself in an abuse of marriage. She served three months in jail before being charged with the crime and forced to pay a large fine. When asked if she was a witch, bridget denied it and claimed that she didn't even know what a witch was. On april nineteenth of 16 92, prosecutor thomas newton moved eight prisoners up from boston jail to salem town for trial. They were all placed in a wagon and carted north to Salem Town where they would be tried together.
