Surrealism's Influence on Political Propaganda and Mainstream Culture

This chapter discusses the influence of surrealism on political propaganda posters in Berlin Dada and post-revolutionary Russia, as well as its incorporation into advertising and mainstream culture. The speakers explore how surrealistic techniques and aesthetics spread through magazines and exhibitions, but eventually became co-opted by advertising agencies. They also discuss the provocation and attention-seeking nature of surrealism.
