The Primary Application of Prayer Is Interpersonal Relationships
We are to ask for what we want, not manipulate, dominate or condemn. One of Jesus' most misunderstood teachings is at the end of the Sermon on the Mount where he says, ask and it will be given to you. The way that we utilize moral superiority, shame and contempt to get people to do what we think they should do has been called condemnation engineering.
