The Difficulty of Spiritual Aridity

When I've experienced real spiritual barrenness I can't see the light it only feels like I'm dying and there is no escape to what you do. What's so difficult and maybe what be what might be kind of definitional to spiritual aridity is that you don't know that in the moment. That day was one of the hardest days of my life but by eleven o'clock that night I felt terrific.
