What's Your Research Trip?

Since my dissertation work, I have been particularly interested in how informal and social networks of the Soviet era leadership packed together to manage their institutional transitions. And what I've found is while there's a lot of theorizing and some case studies on this, there's very little empirical work done. So what I think would be fantastic is to actually go to the constituent, you know, the former Soviet Social Republics and speak to staff members for the central committees.
