The Court's Decision on the Application of Black Students to Colleges
The ruling says very clearly that what students write in their essays can be considered fairly and openly by the admissions officers. The court majority was trying to make a distinction between work done for Latino justice and civil rights as a student, not just being Latino. "They didn't want colleges to have a backdoor way to try to recreate the old system," she said.
