I played with many of the famous, really famous jasguys who were travelling through rochester to get to new york. So after i was being told in so many words, that i didn't really count, that the class lorks was not ready people of my ethnic hue, i'm hearing from these guys that, man, the new york mons a good base player. I felt, i felt i caud fel ti of that rol. And when i gut my sheepskin and aving the ink got dry and i found a small suitcase colled new york, i packed up my stuff, his wife and left for new york August of 19 50
