The Failure of International Diplomacy in Sudan
In December of last year, the sides once again entered a kind of loose framework agreement to transition back to civilian role. And they came under heavy diplomatic pressure to do so, particularly by the Quad,. The Quad is the U.S., the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. We had an opportunity in Washington and with others to sanction the RSF when they in June of 2019 broke up a civilian-sitted movement that was gathered around the military headquarters.
