I think probably partly because my mother encouraged me to write from a very young age, she would buy me notebooks and say, okay, write down what you did today. And I think also, like when I did read books and realized that through that book, I was allowed to be inside somebody's head. That was how I was going to try and get into somebody else's head and give it to a reader who could therefore get into the head as well. But it wasn't anything that I ever started out planning.
