Ancient Egyptian Obelisks

An obelisk is a tall, thin, monolithic monument which could be described as something pointing towards the sky. The romans were awestruck by them and proceeded to remove many of them and take them back to rome. Not a lot is known about the spiritual purpose of the obelisks, which some have speculated is related to the sun god ra due to the fact that they may resemble a ray of light.
