Eminent cultural historians of the nineteenth century, such as bulkart w eamp and isinger, appear to stem from quite different tradition. When people realize that epochs in societies are not to be judged in terms of pattern concept of what is desirable absolutely, but rather, in every case, in terms of their own premises. And when they come to develop a sense of historical dynamics, of the compatibility of historical phenomena, so that each epoch appears as a whole whose character is reflected in each of its manifestations.
