The Dangers of Society Fracturing in the Debate Over Euthanasia

There was a very strong eugenics influence on certainly the early movement for euthanasia. The disability community has a very important voice in this debate. They see that underneath it's really about the judgement that certain people have lives that aren't worth living. It's not fundamentally about autonomy because even advocates for laws like Oregon are not saying, everyone has a right to assist you. So that reflects the fact it's fundamentally about a judgement that society makes and some members of its community would be better off dead.
