Around this time in 2015, several of the rows former interns actually took the company to court. The lead planter for a woman called Shehster Lalani filed the suit in September 2015 after working at the row for five months. Jules star entertainment originally said that they would fight the suit and call the accusations groundless. But in 2017, the media reported that the company agreed to settle the class action with 185 former unpaid interns outside of court and pay $140,000. Each employee received about $500 - not including who covered the class for these legal fees.
