Weather Whiplash in the Jet Stream
Jennifer Francis is a senior scientist at the Woodwell Climate Research Center in Massachusetts. She says storms have always hit California, but we're seeing them on steroids now. The decades-long drought that has gripped the West since the year 2000 is the driest 22-year period since at least 80-800. And there's really no human precedent for it, she says.
