Some of these men were trying to actualize themselves in the leader, which says to me, these are men that are actually weaker than the people who tend to prefer these hyper masculine leaders. It's more a man that's insecure in that who is almost compensating by attaching to this toxic leader. And yeah, it's unfortunate that our cultures religious or not are feeding into this idea that to be masculine you need to be having these sort of even destructive qualities.
