It's been trained using over 8 million documents and over 10 billion words, so it has a wide understanding of many different concepts. For example, if you were looking for a recipe suggestion based on certain ingredients, you could ask Chat GPT and it would be able to respond. There are also potential reliability problems as its output can only be based on knowledge that was available in September 2021 - Google is constantly connected to the internet in real time.
